Aims and Objectives

The BOCW Act's preamble explains the stated purpose: " An act to regulate the employment and conditions of service of building and other construction workers, to provide for their safety, health, and welfare measures, and to provide for other matters connected with or incidental thereto." ABOCWW board is entrusted with the responsibilities of collecting Cess at 1% of the total project value from the establishments that undertake construction work worth more than Rs. 10 Lakhs and utilize them for providing welfare benefits to the Building and Other Construction workers across the state. The board is dedicated to registering all construction workers in Assam and ensuring they receive the specified welfare benefits outlined as per the Section 22 of the BOCW Act, along with their dependents.

Simplified, easy and transparent methods of claim submissions
Disbursement of benefits through DBT mode
Standard procedures for Cess Assessment and Cess collection ensuring
optimum utilization of Cess for providing welfare benefits
Bring in operational efficiency of the board
Transparent modes of Inspections
Simplified establishment registration process and ensure compliance
to the provisions as mentioned in the BOCW Acts and Rules.
Enhance the welfare benefits and schemes provided to the BOC workers
