Assam Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board

The Assam Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board was constituted by the Government of Assam vide Notification No. GLR(RC)135/2007/22 dt. 12/02/08 under Section 18 of the Building & Other Construction Workers’ (RE&CS) Act, 1996, for taking focused initiatives for the welfare of the Building and Other Construction workers. Assam Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board is a tripartite body with representatives from employers, unions, and Government officials.

The Board has taken dedicated measures and continues in its efforts to ensure that the workers are not being exploited, welfare benefits are provided to them, and adequate measures are taken for ensuring healthy and safe working conditions. The board has rolled out many flagship initiatives for the well-being of the construction workers since its inception.

The Board has more than 7 lakhs Building and Construction workers registered as beneficiaries and has formulated various welfare schemes such as Pension benefits, Marriage assistance, Maternity assistance, Death benefits, Skill training, Medical assistance, Educational assistance, Cash awards, Transit shelters for the upliftment of the construction workers.

Guidelines

To register as a member / beneficiary with the Assam BOCW Welfare Board, please submit an online application through the Nirman Sakhi portal (www.abocwwb.assam.gov.in).Registration can be done by visiting nearest Public Facilitation Centre (PFC) or through self-mode by accessing the Nirman Sakhi web portal.
